Kategorie - Überschrift: WHAT ARE INTERFACE CARDS?
Kategoriebeschreibung: Interface cards are plug-in modules that provide interfaces for control/communication of/with external components or test items.
The modules themselves are controlled via standard interfaces such as USB 2.0/3.0, PCI, PCIe, PXI, PXIe or LAN.
Besonderheiten VXI-Geräte: With the PXIe3004 card, you can easily add 4 USB 3.0 ports and connect high-speed peripheral devices in the PXIe chassis. The maximum data rate of the USB 3.0 ports can be used via the PXIe interface. This is ideal for applications with high data volumes, such as the recordings of high-speed cameras or USB3 mass storage devices.
The PXT(e)1741 trigger module with 4 integrated trigger ports expands the test system to allow easy and extremely fast synchronization of external peripherals. As many new multimeters (DMM) on the market no longer provide front trigger connections, the PXT(e)1741 is the perfect solution.
Kategoriebeschreibung: PXI chassis can accommodate plug-in modules according to the PXI/PXIe/cPCI standards. The basic device provides the supply, the ventilation and the bus for controlling the modules. PXI chassis differ in size and therefore in the number of slots available for compatible devices.
Either an external PC, which is connected to the chassis via a link connection, or an embedded controller in the form of a PXI plug-in module acts as the system controller.

Besonderheiten VXI-Geräte: The PXI chassis of the PXC family are very space-saving, since the measurement instsruments are installed horizontally instead of vertically in contrast to the standard PXI chassis. Instead of the usual 4-6 U, only 1-2 U are required in the test system. Since the cooling of the modules is horizontal, no additional height clearances need to be taken into account during the integration, which leads to a significantly greater compactness.
An integrated trigger card is optionally available for the PXCe4006 6-slot chassis, which simplifies synchronization with external devices and does not require its own peripheral slot.
In addition to the PXI chassis, you will also find a high-performance 1-slot PXI embedded controller in the VX Instruments portfolio.

WHAT IS A MATRIX MODULE?
Kategorie - Überschrift: WHAT IS A MATRIX MODULE?
Kategoriebeschreibung: For most test systems, matrix units are necessary in order to connect the different measuring devices to the connections of the test object. Depending on the test, other devices are required and in some cases must not be active on the test item at the same time.
Besonderheiten VXI-Geräte: Since there is a large variety of tests and measuring devices, an individual matrix is often necessary in order to be able to perform the tests quickly and in a targeted manner.
VX Instruments offers a platform that can be equipped with standard modules for currents up to 3000 A or voltages up to 3kV. These can be used simultaneously in a matrix unit. To ensure the necessary safety for high voltages, the matrix unit is controlled via an optically isolated interface.
Furthermore, individually created matrix cards can be developed and used in the existing matrix platform.

Power supply for tests with current measurement, e.g. stand-by currents
Kategorie - Überschrift: WHAT IS A PXI POWER SUPPLY?
Kategoriebeschreibung: A PXI power supply provides the required power for a test application or additional devices. A constant output voltage is generated from the stabilized voltage of the PXI chassis.
There are devices with fixed output voltages or devices in which the output voltage can be freely programmed. Other features include, for example, a programmable current limit or the possibility to measure current and voltage. This function can then be compared to the properties of a PXI Source Measure Unit (SMU) .
Besonderheiten VXI-Geräte: The potential-free power supplies of the VX66xx family stand for precision and reliability and are characterized by many extras such as extremely low noise, very short rise and fall times and additional measurement functions. The energy is completely provided by the PXI chassis, therefore external power supplies are not necessary.
All outputs are galvanically isolated, which among other things ensures low signal noise. It is also possible to connect power supplies in series.

Kategorie - Überschrift: WHAT IS A POWER SUPPLY?
Kategoriebeschreibung: A power supply provides the required power for a test application or additional devices. A constant output voltage is generated from an unstabilized input voltage.
There are single-channel or multi-channel models with fixed or programmable output voltage. Other features include programmable current limiting or safety functions such as overvoltage protection (OVP) or overcurrent protection (OCP).
If current and voltage can also be measured, it is generally referred to as a Source Measure Unit(SMU).
Besonderheiten VXI-Geräte: The potential-free power supplies of the A5710/VX46xx family are characterized by precision and reliability, extremely low noise and very short or programmable rise and fall times.
All outputs of the current and voltage sources are galvanically isolated, which, among other things, ensures low signal noise. This also allows a series connection of power supplies.
Due to their integrated source-sink capability, they can also be used as an electronic load.
