PXI Power Supply

Source and Measurement Units (SMUs) are devices that generate voltages or currents and can measure them simultaneously using the integrated measurement units (VMU, CMU).

Features

  • 1/4 channels, potential-free, U/I measurement unit (16 Bit)
  • Maximum 10 V, 250 mA per channel
  • Programmable slew rates
  • Short rise and fall times

Applications

  • Power supply for tests with current measurement, e.g. stand-by currents
  • Semiconductor testing (diodes, transistors, shunt resistors)

What is a PXI Power Supply?

A PXI power supply provides the required power for a test application or additional devices. A constant output voltage is generated from the stabilized voltage of the PXI chassis.

There are devices with fixed output voltages or devices in which the output voltage can be freely programmed. Other features include, for example, a programmable current limit or the possibility to measure current and voltage. This function can then be compared to the properties of a PXI Source Measure Unit (SMU) .

Product information

The potential-free PXI SMUs of the PX/PXS family are characterized by the four-quadrant operation (4Q operation) and the high slew rate. They can therefore be used flexibly as a quick source or sink.

The current voltage and the current can be read back statically. The digitizer option allows you to record curves.
The arbitrary generator option enables the generation of dynamic voltage and current curves.

External devices or relays can be activated via digital I/O port at the front panel.
