Either an external PC, which is connected to the chassis via a link connection, or an embedded controller in the form of a PXI plug-in module acts as the system controller.

The PXI chassis of the PXC family are very space-saving, since the measurement instsruments are installed horizontally instead of vertically in contrast to the standard PXI chassis. Instead of the usual 4-6 U, only 1-2 U are required in the test system. Since the cooling of the modules is horizontal, no additional height clearances need to be taken into account during the integration, which leads to a significantly greater compactness.
An integrated trigger card is optionally available for the PXCe4006 6-slot chassis, which simplifies synchronization with external devices and does not require its own peripheral slot.
In addition to the PXI chassis, you will also find a high-performance 1-slot PXI embedded controller in the VX Instruments portfolio.
